This cane was made for a "Cold War" veteran of the United States Army, and also a Civil War Re-Enactor from Washington state. Mr. Wilcox wanted a stick that he could use every day but also something that he could help keep his towering 6'5" from steady on the "field of battle". He liked the "diamond willow" replica that I had made for Mr. Watson and so we went with this sort of design. I usually have a cleaner staff/handle connection, but this time went for the roughed out look you see in the middle picture. I even left some tool marks, but still felt a little lazy not spending all of the hours bringing a stick to a glass-like sheen. Staff Sgt. Wilcox was happy with the end product though. I even disguised on of Tree Line USA's combination walking tips with some battered looking tin I was able to get my hands on.
