This is a picture of Mr. Jack Wynn. I met him at a Bob Evans during my 2006 Christmas stay in Indiana. As I do with veterans that I'm fortunate enough to meet, I offered to make him a cane if he should ever need one. This is just my way of saying thanks. As he and his wife were leaving he gave me his "business card", the above photo of this handsome young Marine before he shipped out to China in World War II. Around six months later I received a phone call from his wife, Mrs. Jack Wynn, and unfortunately Jack was having trouble with his knee and could sure use that cane I offered to make for him back in December. Since it was my gift to them, they didn't want me doing any fancy carving, they just wanted a simple straight and sturdy cane. I couldn't resist and had to put the USMC Globe and and Anchor at the top of this cane. The handle is made from Kiatt Wood, and the staff is made from Zebra Wood.
